Nylon and Polyester Fabrics
THS offers polyesters and nylons in their loomstate to customers, more often than glass. These materials are valued for their impressive mechanical strength and durability in their unprocessed state. This is largely due to the comparable melting points of polyester and nylon with the coating and curing temperatures of certain polymers.
Most of the textile options are designed for high-temperature uses, but THS also provides a selection of woven continuous filament Polyester and Nylon (Polyamide) fabrics. These fabrics are ideal for situations where the maximum working temperatures are lower or where specific properties of these fibres are required.

What is Nylon and Polyester?
Polyester and nylon are both synthetic fabrics. Polyester is created under high temperatures in a vacuum, where a combination of a petroleum by-product, alcohol, and carboxylic acid undergoes a process called polymerization to form an ‘ester.’ On the other hand, nylon is produced through a different method, where monomers link together to create a long chain via a condensation polymerization reaction. Both of these fibres are known for their impressive strength, water resistance, and excellent chemical resistance.
