IMO Certified Fabrics

Our range of certified glass fabrics is specifically engineered to meet the rigorous safety and performance standards required in marine and offshore environments.

Each product listed has been independently tested and approved to IMO Resolution MSC 307(88) (formerly FTP Code 2010), Parts 5 and 2, and is suitable for use in shipbuilding, offshore modules, passenger ferries, and other demanding applications.

  • Independently tested to IMO Resolution MSC 307(88)
  • Certified for surface flammability, smoke, and toxicity
  • Suitable for use in:
    • Bulkhead, wall, and ceiling linings
    • Floor coverings
    • Primary deck coverings
    • Engine bays, fire barrier curtains, insulation jackets, and HVAC duct wraps
  • Fabric finishes include:
    • Single- and double-sided grey silicone coatings
    • High-performance PU-coated glass cloth
    • Weavelock treated fabrics
    • Aluminium foil-faced laminates
    • Silica wash-treated and wire-reinforced glass cloths

These materials are commonly used in engine bays, under-deck insulation, fire barriers, duct protection, and areas requiring certified non-combustible linings in accordance with SOLAS and Class Society rules.

Performance Standards & Acceptance Criteria

In accordance with IMO Resolution MSC 307(88), the following thresholds apply:

  • If the average Total Heat Release is not more than 0.2 megajoules (MJ)
  • And the average Peak Heat Release Rate is not more than 1.0 kilowatt (kW)
  • Then, in accordance with Paragraph 2.7 of Annex 1 to IMO Resolution MSC 307(88): Annex 1, Part 5,
  • It is considered that the specimens comply with the requirements of Part 2 of Annex 1 – the Smoke and Toxicity Test – without requiring separate testing for smoke and toxicity
